The USCIS has now confirmed that it will utilize the same electronic registration system as last year for fiscal year 2022 (FY22) cap-subject H1B petitions (i.e., H1B petitions filed in the “lottery”). Under this system, rather than filing a complete H1B petition to enter the lottery, employers or their attorneys submit a basic registration for each individual the company wishes to sponsor for an H1B position. The registration period will run from noon Eastern Time (ET) March 9 through noon ET on March 25, 2021.
The proposed waged-based registration system will NOT be used this year.
